Debt: the condition of owing
National Headlines is a series of five new monologues taken directly from interviews with people about current stories hitting the headlines. Each short
piece is accompanied by a discussion about the important issues raised. As the project develops, the Nationals website will include updates on the themes and writers involved. National Headlines is co-ordinated by Paul Jepson, whose reportage play Life After Life was seen at the National in 2002.

Gregory Burkes first play, Gagarin Way, was seen at the National in 2002 after its Edinburgh premiere. The Straits opened at the Traverse in 2003 and subsequently at the Hampstead Theatre.
